WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Both the Daesh and Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly the Nusra Front, are legitimate targets of US-Russian coordinated airstrikes in Syria under the new deal, US Department of State deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
"Somebody asked me yesterday [if] it is just Nusra who can be targeted by coordinated US and Russia strikes," Toner told reporters. "I said I thought it was just Nusra. That was incorrect; it’s Nusra and ISIL [Islamic State] targets, for the record," Toner told reporters.
