KIEV (Sputnik) — Naftogaz and Gazprom have been involved in legal proceedings with mutual claims since 2014. In November 2015, Ukraine ceased buying gas from Russia over the gas price dispute, turning to European suppliers of transit gas.
"A legal position is necessary in order to secure anything in the Stockholm court, we formed such a position two years ago, and now the final stage is underway as hearings will start in a week," the Naftogaz's senior manager said.
In June, Naftogaz sent a proposal to Gazprom to sign an addendum to the existing contract that would allow the Russian company to resume gas deliveries to Ukraine.
