MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The relocation involved dozens of armored vehicles, tanks and equipment that were transported to military bases in central and southwestern Anatolia, Thracian province, Eastern Turkey and to the military base in Gaziantep, at the Syrian border.
“The removal process in Istanbul and Ankara is completed. From now on, tracked armored vehicles will no longer be held in city centers,” Isik said as quoted by state-run Anadolu News Agency.
About 4,000 military personnel have been dismissed, and over 40,000 people have been detained following the July 15 failed government overthrow. Over 240 people were killed in the attempted coup.
