WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Anyone traveling by airplane with the recalled phone must follow five new guidelines, including turning the device off, disconnecting it from charging equipment, and disabling any applications that could activate the phone.
"Anyone who chooses to travel with a recalled device must take precautions to ensure its safe handling," US Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx is quoted as saying in the release.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones sold before Thursday because the battery can overheat and catch fire or explode.
