WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Earlier on Sunday, an off-duty police officer shot dead a suspected attacker who stabbed eight people inside a Minnesota mall. None of the attacker's victims died. Daesh reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
"We are currently investigating this as a potential act of terrorism, and I do say 'potential’," the ABC News broadcaster quoted FBI agent Richard Thornton as saying.
According to the statement, the suspect is yet to be identified.
"We will try to peel back the onion to find out what motivated this individual to commit the horrific act that he did," Thornton added, as quoted by the media.
