WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The investigation into Saturday bombings in the states of New York and New Jersey has been progressing rapidly, US President Barack Obama said in a press conference on Monday.
"The investigation is moving rapidly," Obama stated. "There is a person of interest, who is the focus of the investigation."
"We’re also focused on the stabbing attack at the shopping mall in Minnesota," Obama stated. "At this point, we see no connection between that incident and what happened here in New York and New Jersey."
Additionally, Obama said federal resources will be available for Minnesota investigators, which the FBI is probing as a potential act of terrorism.
Obama noted that he has told New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as well as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio that they will "continue to have all federal support as they move ahead."
