The legitimacy of Russia’s parliamentary election is not in doubt, the head of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) mission and SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov said Monday.

United Russia Wins Parliamentary Poll With 54.28% After 93% Ballots Counted
MOSCOW (Sputnik) –  The governing United Russia is leading all parties with 54.28 percent of the votes, or 140 mandates, added to 203 single-constituency candidates from the party.

"The elections complied with the requirements of Russian legislation and international standards; the mission has not recorded violations. The mission recognizes them as free, open and democratic. The legitimacy of the elections is not in doubt," Alimov told reporters.
