KIEV (Sputnik) — The Canadian parliament is expected to consider ratification of an agreement on establishing a free trade zone with Ukraine, Ukraine's Ambassador to Ottawa Andriy Shevchenko said Tuesday.
"The Canadian government has brought before the parliament for ratification an agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada," Shevchenko wrote on his Twitter account.
According to the ambassador, the next step will be the introduction of the legislation for the implementation in 21 days.
"Now, it is up to the Ukrainian government and the Verkhovna Rada," he added.
In July, the two sides signed the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA), which seeks to stimulate mutual Canada-Ukraine investments and allow access for Ukraine goods to the Canadian market.
