US-Russia Talks on Syria 'Only Show in Town' and Should be Sustained - UK FM
14:44 GMT 20.09.2016 (Updated: 11:15 GMT 06.08.2022) The talks brokered by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are the only viable option for a path toward resolving the war in Syria, UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson told reporters on Tuesday.
NEW YORK (Sputnik) — Following a meeting of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in New York, Johnson said:
“Quite frankly, the Kerry-Lavrov process is the only show in town, and we have got to get that show back on the road.”
Johnson added that all ISSG members recognize the difficulty of putting in place a Syrian ceasefire, but said “the mood of the meeting was very much that nobody wants to give this thing up.”
