MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Approximately 4,000 Russian servicemen and 1,000 units of hardware are involved in the military drills in South Ossetia, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service said Tuesday.
"The servicemen of the Russian military base in the Southern Military District have started the command and staff exercises in South Ossetia. About 4,000 servicemen and 1,000 military hardware units are involved in the drills, which will last up to September 24," the press service said.
