US Carries Out 19 Strikes to Aid Anti-Daesh Operation South of Mosul
The US-led coalition against Daesh has carried out 19 airstrikes near the Iraqi city of Shirqat to aid counterterrorism operation south of Mosul, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesperson Col. John Dorrian stated on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Shirqat is the settlement located near the road from the capital of Baghdad to one of the largest Iraqi cities Mosul.
Mosul was seized in 2014 during an offensive of Daesh.
