“The latest terrorist attack in Uri only underlines that the infrastructure of terrorism in Pakistan remains active. We demand that Pakistan lives up to its public commitment to refrain from supporting and sponsoring terrorism against India,” reads a statement released by India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
Since the Pathankot airbase attack in January this year, seventeen attempts were made by armed terrorists to cross the Line of Control, resulting in the elimination of 31 terrorists and the prevention of their intended acts of terrorism.
India informed Pakistan’s High Commissioner about various items recovered after the Uri attack. Jaishankar told to Basit that the Indian Army has recovered Grenades with Pakistani markings; communication matrix sheets; other items made in Pakistan, including food, medicines and clothes. India is now expecting a response from Pakistan.
