MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A total of five firefighters may have died while extinguishing fire as a result of a warehouse roof collapse in Moscow’s east, a source in the emergency service told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
“According to the preliminary findings, five firefighters have been killed by a warehouse roof collapse,” the source said.
According to the Emergency Ministry's representative, the contact with seven firefighters has been lost following the warehouse incident.
Earlier in the day, the Moscow branch of the Emergencies Ministry reported that fire area in the warehouse increased to 500 square meters and plastic products were burning, which caused an excessive smoke.
