The crew of the AV-8B Harrier ground-attack VTOL aircraft is said to be safe, Japan's Ryukyu Shimpo daily said, citing officials.
The Nakagusuku Coast Guard division of the Japan Coast Guard was dispatched to the scene, according to the outlet.
