MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's Gazprom energy company discovered a new offshore natural gas field at the Kirisnky block of the Sakhalin Island Shelf in the Far East, Gazprom said Thursday.
"In the course of exploration work at the Kirinsky prospecting site of the Sakhalin-3 project area in the Sea of Okhotsk, significant gas and condensate inflow was produced as a result of drilling at the Yuzhno-Lunskaya structure, demonstrating the discovery of a new field," the company said.
Estimates of the new field's reserves would be submitted to the Federal Subsoil Resources Management Agency (Rosnedra) after finishing tests at the well, it added.
