WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Department of State published the text of the Syrian ceasefire deal reached with Russia after much of the statement was leaked on Thursday.
The text lays out a plan for US-Russian implementation of a cessation of hostilities agreement between the Syrian government and opposition groups as well as and Joint Operation Center for Washington and Moscow to target Daesh and al-Nusra Front terrorists inside the country.
The ceasefire deal provides for intelligence sharing between the two nations.
"The JIC [Joint Implementation Center] is to take on the following tasks, in sequence a) Share intelligence and develop actionable targets for military action against Nusra in designated areas," the text states.
"The JIC can be fully functional as soon as there are seven continuous days of adherence to the CoH and access to Aleppo as per the terms of this understanding," the document stated.
The agreement also outlines a number of preparation steps to ensure the timely launch of the JIC, including determining necessary working procedures.
