San Francisco's Civic Center and United Nation's Plazas has been evacuated after reports of a gunman. All motorists and pedestrians have been forced to leave the area, according to ABC's local affiliate KGO News.
Police are believed to be attempting to communicate with the suspect who is seen wearing a green jacket in footage provided by ABC 7 news reporter Cornell Barnard.

The San Francisco Fire Department confirms that there is a gunman at the location and the pubic should steer clear of the area. The gunman's identity and motives remain unknown at this time.

Local reports indicate that the SWAT team and bomb squad have been dispatched to the location in addition to numerous emergency medical services trucks. It remains unknown whether there have been any injuries in this incident although gunfire has not been reported.
