MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The teenagers were allegedly in contact with French jihadist Rachid Kassim, who regularly calls for committing attacks through his Telegram messenger account, Le Parisien newspaper reported Sunday.
"As in other cases where we find Rachid Kassim, they were encouraged to carry out an attack on specific targets to avenge the recent death of a Daesh spokesman" a source close to the investigation told the newspaper.
Due to security concerns, France has been in a state of emergency since the Paris attacks in November 2015. The state of emergency was extended for six months in July after a deadly truck attack in the seaside resort of Nice.
