WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Kaine said in remarks in Lakeland in the US state of Florida later distributed by the Clinton campaign on Monday that a "guy who would persist in the bigoted lie that President [Barack] Obama wasn’t born here, he could lie about anything."
He added that if Trump’s tax returns were opened to the American public, they might reveal details of his business dealings with Russia and other aspects of his career and private life.
"The tax returns might show these connections to Russia that are so strange. The tax returns might show that despite claiming that he’s Mr. Charity, that he’s actually not charitable at all," he argued.
Kaine also said Trump needed to establish his credibility and transparency with the American people before a national television audience in his debate with Clinton.
