India launched multiple satellites from the polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) in what is supposed to be its longest mission yet, media reported Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — PSLV, which took off at about 9:12 a.m (03:42 GMT) local time, is set to launch three Indian satellites, three Algerian, three Canadian and one American into two different orbits, Times of India reported.

The satellites will contribute to ocean and weather research, including the detection and tracking of cyclones. The mission is planned to take two hours and 15 minutes.

The first satellite will be sent to a higher orbit with the rest going into a lower one.
