CHISINAU (Sputnik) — In June, the Socialists said that they would initiate no-confidence votes to ministers every week. They have already initiated such motions against the defense minister, the minister of education and the finance minister of the country.
"I announce that we will initiate a no-confidence motion against the government. We should prevent another theft from the banking and financial sector… We have no money for pensions, salaries and scholarships. The Party of Socialists calls on all the parliamentarians to sign the no-confidence motion against the government regardless of their political ideology and geopolitical views," Dodon told reporters.
Political crisis in Moldova was sparked by the biggest known incident of fraud in Moldovan history, namely, the disappearance of over $1 billion, or the equivalent of about 15 percent of the country's gross domestic product, from three Moldovan banks.
