MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Strategic Missile Forces carried out a major war exercise including simulations of rocket launch, Defense Ministry said Monday.
"The drill was aimed at practicing highest levels of combat readiness, manoeuvring during combat patrols, resisting diversions and high accuracy strikes of the opponent, reaching combat goals in the event of electronic jamming and the opponent's active presence in the deployment area. Simulations of rocket launches provided an impressive finish," Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Chief of Strategic Missile Forces Gen. Sergei Karakaev led the drill. The war games participants made use of 1,700 units of large size military equipment.
