MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus, the two sides also maintain cooperation over renovation of the Russian-made military equipment used in Cyprus.
"We are currently holding talks about a cooperation agreement in the sphere of holding humanitarian operations, in particular, the evacuation of Russians through the [Cypriot] ports and airports in case of emergency situations in the Middle East," George Kasoulides told reporters.
Cyprus is among EU member states, which oppose the prolongation of the EU anti-Russian sanctions over its alleged interference in a conflict in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region.
