WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The funds raised through the HVF will be used to recruit volunteers, register voters and organize Democrats across the United States, the aide said on Tuesday, according to the White House pool.
The fundraising event takes place the day after Clinton and her Republican rival Donald Trump participated in the first presidential debate of the 2016 election cycle.
Earlier in the day, White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said President Obama believes Clinton performed "quite strongly" in the first presidential debate with Republican rival Donald Trump on Monday.
The second of the three Clinton-Trump debates is scheduled for October 9.
