At least 12 women and four children died as two grenades went off at a wedding in the town of Yarim in the Yemeni Ibb governorate, local media reported Tuesday, citing a source in the municipality.

DUBAI (Sputnik) — According to the 7adramout.net news portal, about 20 women were injured and transferred to hospitals in the Ibb province and neighboring Damar.

The grenades were hurled by a "mentally disturbed" father of the bride, the news portal said, adding that the celebration took place at the house of bride’s grandmother.

The bride’s mother and grandmother were among the victims, the website said, specifying that the bride survived.
