New Delhi (Sputnik) — India's Defense Acquisition Council, chaired by Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, cleared proposals, worth over $ 3 billion, on Wednesday.
The Defense Acquisition Council is a governing body tasked with the purchase of arms and ammunition in the country.
According to Defense Ministry sources, the Defense Acquisition Council gave its nod for the purchase of Anti-Tank Guided Munition for training purposes.
The Defense Acquisition Council also cleared proposals to set up a repair facility for the naval dockyard in Mumbai. The DAC also cleared the proposal for setting up a weapon repair facility at Port Blair.
