MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has never voiced any estimates or assessments regarding the duration of the operation in Syria, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.
"The supreme commander of the Russian Federation, president Putin has never voiced any estimates or assessments regarding the duration," Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin assessed the effectiveness of this operation as positive.
"We can state one thing. Bearing in mind that ISIL [Islamic State], Nusra [Front] are not sitting in Damascus, this is probably the main outcome, the positive outcome of the support our aviation provides to the legitimate armed forces of Syria," Peskov said.
Both Daesh and Nusra Front are banned in Russia.
