WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, State Department deputy spokesperson John Kirby announced in a press release that Washington is cutting off participation in bilateral channels with Russia on sustaining a ceasefire agreement in Syria.
When asked whether Kerry informed Lavrov about the suspension, Trudeau stated, "Yes," adding that the United States has been in direct communication with Russian not only in Geneva, but consistently throughout this period. "Our teams met through the weekend. We engaged in what we viewed as very robust discussions."
