SOCHI – Well-known Russian film director Fyodor Bondarchyuk signed the document on behalf of the National Media Group.
The idea of establishing a film studio in the Krasnodar Territory was conceived long ago, he explained. “Films are often shot in the region, which has all the required conditions and a favorable climate, and filmmakers want to shoot here. We now need to formalize all this, so that the project will receive a logic and an economic model,” he said.
In turn, OTEKO CEO Michel Litvak noted that the project could open up new opportunities for the region. "I am a filmmaker, and I shoot films in the West. Under the right conditions, it would also be possible to shoot here," he said. The film studio’s location now needs to be chosen, Governor Kondratyev said. “This could be Gelendzhik or Sochi. In any event, it would become a very good anchor project that would attract many tourists as well, and this would make our resorts even more popular,” Kondratyev added.
