MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Camera crews of Russian TV-channels Zvezda and NTV came under fire in the Syrian city Aleppo on Monday, a correspondent from the targeted crew said.

"We have been under fire. We are sitting behind the bus, hiding. The fire is aimed," Maksim Gritsenko, Zvezda TV channel correspondent said, as quoted by the channel’s website. The type of the used weapons is unknown.

The journalists reportedly were not injured in the incident.

The camera crews are said to have headed for the Handarat refugee camp in north-western Aleppo.

Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with opposition factions and Islamist terrorist groups such as Daesh and al-Nusra Front, now known as Jabhat Fatah al Sham, both outlawed in Russia, fighting the Syrian Army.
