Cat lovers across the UK are now getting ready for a cat fight.
Larry, the Downing Street moggie, is already kicking off over catty revelation by the PM, who hinted at her cat v dog preference during a recent media interview in the UK.
@Number10cat oh no! Poor Larry!

On the mock twitter page for Larry the Cat, in response to May's anti-cat reference, a quirky twitter poll currently shows the nation's strong preference for him over the UK PM. A power struggle is clearly lurking on Downing Street and with the number of feisty cats involved, it could get rather meowishly messy!

Looking at social media reactions, it seems that the UK is a nation already divided on the battle between dogs and cats, with a number of popular hashtags such as #WoofWoofWednesday or #CatsOfInstagram getting strong audience traction.

And with a number of government ministers such as Foreign Minster Boris Johnson and Labour's new leader Jeremy Corbyn both having already shown their allegiance with cats, the divide it seems could quite easily transfer to the wider general public with potentially cat-astrophic results.
My love for @jeremycorbyn has grown even more — just discovered he has a cat called El Gato which means 'cat' 😂 pic.twitter.com/Nq5Kqnj8QB

When it comes to loyalty, affection and the desire to serve — the title of man's best friend has been most commonly awarded to dogs. But for those who don't want a needy four-legged pet by their side — the cat certainly wins in that department.
@lukemcgee Look, he's just misunderstood. He's a bit feisty and I like that in a cat (and humans)

For time-poor cabinet ministers, the cat certainly fits the lifestyle of Downing Street where the likes of feline residents Larry and Palmerston are quite used to owners changing when a new cabinet minister is appointed.
People seem to be making quite a big fuss about me replacing my butler…

So which is better — the Cat (and their owners) or the Dog and theirs? Do with this question as you may, as it seems there is no winning answer.
