MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Arab members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, are not pleased with the US role in the Middle Eastern settlement, Ahmad Tibi, a deputy Speaker of the Knesset, said Tuesday.
"We are displeased with the US participation in the region, its actions do not serve the ending of Israeli occupation, but on the contrary… By words, they oppose Israeli settlements [in Palestinian territories] but these words are not followed by actions," Tibi told a press conference.
The Arab lawmakers want Russia to play a greater role in the resolution of crisis with Palestine and in influencing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for promotion of the two-state solution, the deputy speaker said.
"We want Russia to play more significant role in the settlement of Middle Eastern conflict, in order to push ending of Israeli occupation, to influence Netanyahu and make him work on the promotion of the two-state solution," Tibi said.
