WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US military launched airstrikes against suspected al-Qaeda terrorists in Yemen, injuring one militant and killing another, the US Central Command said in a press release.
"The US military successfully struck an al-Qaeda target in the Arabian Peninsula, Sept. 29, in a remote area of Al Baydah Governate, Yemen, injuring one terrorist and killing another," the release stated on Tuesday.
Central Command spokesperson Army Maj. John Jacques said US airstrikes will hinder the ability of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to freely move throughout Yemen.
