UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres emerged as a clear leader after a sixth-straw vote at the Security Council, current President of Security Council Vitaly Churkin told reporters on Wednesday.
“Today after our six straw poll, we have a clear favorite and his name is Antonio Guterres. We have decided to go for a formal vote tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock by acclamation,” Churkin said.
