Russian oil company LUKoil has invested 87.1 billion rubles ($1.39 billion) in the Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea, LUKoil's Vice President for Geologic Exploration Ilya Mandrik said Wednesday.

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Speaking at the Offshore Marintec Russia conference in St. Petersburg, Mandrik's presentation indicated that effective investment in the project totaled 87.1 billion rubles.

The senior executive said production at Filanovsky's two wells put into operation last month amounted to 60,000 metric tonnes of oil as of October 1.
