So far, Haiti, that has not been completely restored yet after a catastrophic 2010 earthquake, has taken the brunt of the hurricane with the risk of flooding and landslides forcing people to evacuate.
Matthew made landfall on Haiti’s west coast on Tuesday morning as a Category 4 storm, meaning it had sustained winds of 130-156 miles per hour. It is expected to also hit Cuba, the Bahamas and southeastern United States, where Florida and South Carolina have declared state of emergency.
