The project is designed to show how the life of the ancient Roman city looked like before the Vesuvius eruption.
To learn more about the interiors of a house in Pompeii, you can watch the University's official video on YouTube. Inside the house, you can see recreated indoor pool, roof windows and statues.
The 3D-model is based on the scans of the city's ruins made during a fieldwork in 2011-2012.
"By combining new technology with more traditional methods, we can describe Pompeii in greater detail and more accurately than was previously possible," the statement of Nicoló Dell´Unto, digital archaeologist at Lund University, said.
Pompeii was one of the most prosperous cities of the Roman empire. In the year 79 A.D., the eruption of Vesuvius volcano buried the ancient Roman city under a hick carpet of volcanic ash, claiming lives of thousands of people.
