MOSCOW (Sputnik) — French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve urged the British government on Monday to reunite migrant children from the Calais camp with their families in the United Kingdom.
"I am calling specifically on the United Kingdom to assume its moral obligation. These minors have families in the UK. We have taken in almost 6,000 migrants since last October… The United Kingdom must fulfill its responsibility like France did," Cazeneuve told the RTL radio.
The minister confirmed there were hundreds of unaccompanied minors stranded at the Calais "Jungle" camp in northern France. He said authorities were making a precise list of them as they prepare to start dismantling the facility before the year ends.
