MOSCOW (Sputnik) — It is planned that by 2020 the production of traditionally and non-traditionally extracted natural gas will increase twofold to reach 18 billion cubic meters per day, the minister stated at the World Energy Congress, as broadcast on the Al Ekhbariya channel.
Saudi Arabia is still working on the implementation of the Vision 2030 development blueprint, the minister noted, adding that the reform program focuses on three major sectors of economy, namely oil and gas, chemical and mining industries.
The World Energy Congress is being held in Istanbul on October 9-13. The congress is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and their Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro. The potential measures to support the oil price situation have been among the main topics of discussion.
