MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US technology company Apple plans to open a new research and development center in China's Shenzhen in 2017, which will become the second Apple center in the country, local China Daily newspaper reported Wednesday, citing the firm's statement.
"The Shenzhen center, along with the Beijing center, is also aimed at strengthening relationships with local partners and universities as we work to support talent development across the country. We are excited to be opening a new Research and Development center here next year so our engineering team can work even more closely and collaboratively with our manufacturing partner," the statement obtained by the China Daily newspaper reads.
No information about the investment size of the new facility has been provided, according to the media outlet.
The Beijing-based center with a 100 million yuan ($14.99 million) in the authorized capital will reportedly provide 500 working places,
