Two 17-year-old males were arrested in Australia. Officers seized two knives.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The counterterrorism unit of Australia's New South Wales (NSW) state on Wednesday arrested two men in Sydney's suburb of Bankstown, the press service of the NSW Police Force said in a statement.

"The NSW Joint Counter-Terrorism Team has arrested two 17-year-old males in Bankstown this afternoon. Officers seized two knives and the pair remains in custody," the statement said.

Australia May Introduce Indefinite Detention for Terror Convicts
The statement added that the only information police could provide in connection with the incident that there were no "on-going threat" related to the detention at the moment.

According to Australia's National Terrorism Threat Advisory System, the current terrorism threat level is estimated as "probable," which means that certain individuals or groups could carry out terrorist attacks in the country.
