MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, Johnson criticized Moscow for its actions in Syria and urged people to protest outside the Russian Embassy in London. The foreign secretary also called on anti-war groups to picket the embassy.
"We will have to be little bit careful… about security of our embassy in Moscow when we think about calling for demonstrations here in London. Yes, there is a value in demonstrating clearly through governments and popularly the opposition to some of the tactics being used in Aleppo, but I do not think it actually can change the course of events," Sawers said speaking to the BBC Radio 4's Today program.
Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with opposition factions and Islamist terrorist groups, fighting the Syrian army.
Russia has been conducting an anti-terror campaign in the Arab country since September 2015 at Syrian President Bashar Assad's request.
