Russia, Austria Sign Declaration to Hold Cross-Cultural Year in 2017

Russian Deputy Culture Minister Alla Manilova and Director General of the Austrian Ministry of Economy Elisabeth Udolf-Strobl signed on Wednesday a joint declaration and a program to conduct a cross-cultural year in 2017, set to kick off with the opening of a national tourist office in Vienna.

VIENNA (Sputnik) — The sides plan to put a preliminary list of programs on their internet portals which will be updated and enriched with new events during the next few months and until the project's closure in November 2017.

Moscow Hosting World Cities Culture Summit on October 5-7

Udolf-Strobl recalled, that the opening of the national tourist office in Vienna dabbed visit Russia will take place in mid-December. Russia's participation in the international tourist exhibition called Ferien-Messe-Wien in the Austrian capital will become second largest event.

The Tourism of the Future Symposium is slated for spring 2017 to be held in Moscow. The gastronomic marathon will take place in the Krasnoyarsk region in the summer, during which the national cuisines will be presented. In the fall, Sochi will host a summit for winemakers and a prominent Viennese Museum Albertina will bring an exhibition of works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka in the Russian capital.
