MOSCOW (Sputnik) — About 1,000 servicemen from the signal corps of Russia's Armed Forces are taking part in a large-scale drills in the country's Eastern Military District (EMD), district spokesman Alexander Gordeev said Wednesday.
"About 1,000 specialists from the signal corps of the Eastern Military District are involved in the large-scale command-and-staff exercise, which is held under the direction of the commander of the Eastern Military District's troops," Gordeev told reporters.
He added that representatives of the command and staff of the EMD, the Pacific Fleet, the Aerospace Forces and air defense forces are taking part in the drills, aimed at practicing coordination between the different branches of the armed forces.
