WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Rahami appeared for his court hearing via video conference from a hospital, where he is treated for wounds from a shootout with police two days after the bombings of which he is accused, NJ.Com reported.
The 28-year-old immigrant from Afghanistan is charged with five counts of attempted murder of a police officer and weapons violations in connection with the September 17 bombings in Seaside Park, New Jersey and New York’s Chelsea neighborhood.
At least 29 people were injured in the Chelsea blast and two Linden, New Jersey police officers were wounded in the shootout with Rahami.
