MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Members of Jabhat Fatah al Sham (also known as al-Nusra Front, or Jabhat al-Nusra), representing a major part of militants in Syria's Aleppo, will never leave the city unless the military situation makes them retreat, Syrian Reconciliation Minister Ali Haidar told Sputnik on Thursday.
"Al-Nusra Front is the main force of militants in Aleppo, although some argue that there are no members of the group in the city. Nusra will not leave Aleppo unless the fighting and critical military situation makes them," Haidar said.
Syria's civil war between government forces and a wide range of insurgents, including terrorists opposition forces, has ranged for some five years and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives.
