MOSCOW (Sputnik) – One of the women, 74-year-old Jessica Leeds, told the newspaper that Trump touched her in inappropriate places and put his hand up her skirt when they were sitting next to each other in first class on a flight to New York 35 years ago.
"He was like an octopus," Leeds told The New York Times in a Wednesday interview. "His hands were everywhere," she added.
The second woman, Rachel Crooks, claims that Trump kissed her on the face and mouth during an encounter in the Trump Tower in Manhattan in 2005.
"It was so inappropriate," Crooks recalled in the interview with The New York Times. "I was so upset that he thought I was so insignificant that he could do that," she added, explaining that she had just introduced herself when Trump started kissing her cheeks and then her mouth.
Last Friday, US media released a video from 2005 in which Trump boasts of sexual advances toward women. The comments, made during a pre-interview conversation with TV host Billy Bush, have put Trump’s campaign on the defensive against some Republicans who have called for him to quit the presidential race.
Trump has publicly apologized for the 11-year-old remarks, but prominent members of his party have expressed their displeasure with the nominee nonetheless. For example, US House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan has announced that "he’s done defending Donald Trump" and would no longer campaign with him.
In the course of his campaign, Trump has been widely criticized for his controversial statements, including with regard to immigrants, Latin Americans, Muslims, and women.
