Two individuals of Milwaukee, Wisconsin have been charged with trying to give material support to the Daesh terror group, the US Department of Justice announced in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Daesh is a designated terrorist organization that is outlawed in the United States, Russia and numerous other countries around the world.

"Jason Michael Ludke of Wisconsin has been charged in a criminal complaint with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State [Daesh]," the release stated on Friday. "Yosvany Padylla-Conde also of Wisconsin was charged in the same complaint."

According to prosecutors, the two planned to acquire documents necessary to travel overseas to join the Daesh. Ludke and Padylla-Conde were apprehended in Texas, where they made a stop on their trip to Mexico.

If found guilty, the men face up to 20 years in jail and a fine of up to $250,000.
