The former state secretary said this would be possible if Beijing refuses to take measures to pressure North Korea over its missile and nuclear program.

According to her, if North Korea obtains a ballistic missile this would pose a threat not only to Washington’s allies in the Pacific, but also to "Hawaii and the west coast theoretically."

"We're going to ring China with missile defense. We're going to put more of our fleet in the area. So China, come on. You either control them or we're going to have to defend against them," Hillary Clinton said in a 2013 speech.

On October 7, WikiLeaks dumped the first batch of leaked e-mails related to John Podesta, the Hillary Clinton campaign’s chairman. The whistleblowing website has published seven portions of those emails, bringing the total number of them to 10,619.
