New Delhi (Sputnik) — Both India and China have underlined the need for greater people to people contact and increasing cultural ties in building a positive environment between the two countries.
During the Third India-China Media Dialogue held in New Delhi, both countries stressed that there is need to improve perceptions and the media could play a big role in bridging the divide.
“The media can play a greater role in promoting better relations through positive opinion building and creating awareness among the people about the positive and negative information coming from various means,” Tua Zhen, Vice Minister of the CPC Central Committee of China said.
Mr Zhen further added that, “Cultural cooperation can play a big role to improve the understanding among the peoples of the two countries.”
The relationship between India and China is far from good. Whereas, India and China are strengthening their cooperation in the field of trade and investment, the battle for regional supremacy has led to rivalry which often creates misunderstanding.
